I went to my first yoga class out of pure curiosity about this hot yoga thing my friend was raving about. I wouldn’t say that I fell in love after one class — but I enjoyed the physical and mental challenges of a hot yoga practice. These challenges kept me coming back to my mat, until one day my yoga practice started showing up off of my mat. Some life changes and transitions helped me to see what yoga could really be.
Yoga has taught me about patience, acceptance, how to let go, and so much more. I find these traits pop up in the middle of a pose as I move on my mat, but more importantly I find these traits pop up in my daily life off the mat as well. Yoga isn’t so much about “perfecting” a posture, but is really about being comfortable with wherever you are in a posture — because that is the perfect posture for you!
