I first found my way to yoga looking for a workout. I thought "An hour and a half, heated room, sweating, working hard, burning calories, and detoxing all at the same time! Great!" It was so thrilling to me that this could all take place in one class. Then slowly, I began to change from the inside out. My mind began to clam and for the first time in my life I learned how to be still. To stop and breath. Although the workout and physical benefits still take place in every single class, so does the softer side of yoga.
Twelve years later I continue to come to my mat. Each class I learn something new about a posture, and maybe more importantly, I learn something new about my body in that posture. I believe that is the power of yoga. I feel blessed to be able to share this with others and to watch yoga change people the way it changed me. So amazing.
