I am a native Middle Tennessean who spent most of my career in corporate America. My health and wellness regimen was fixated on cardio and I practiced yoga at home on my “relaxation” day. A knee injury brought more yoga into my life. I joined a yoga studio and was drawn to the love and acceptance there, and the beautiful peace and strength I felt after practice. Through yoga I found the balance I had been seeking and became less competitive within myself and with others. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Asheville Yoga Center in 2015, continued training there while teaching yoga in Tennessee, and earned my 500 Hour certification in 2015 also with AYC.
I love to create an authentic, open space for all levels of experience to feel welcome and comfortable in my classes, with a focus on moving and breathing in yoga and in life. This quote embodies my feelings: "It's a journey. No one is ahead of you or behind you. You are not more 'advanced' or less enlightened. You are exactly where you need to be. It’s not a contest. It’s life. We are all teachers and we are all students."
Love & peace,
